I’m a theologian, writer, and teacher in Boston, Massachusetts.
I write a regular column at The Christian Century about political theology and current events.
My research and teaching explore the intersection of Christian theology and politics in the modern West. In my new book, In the Twilight of the Christian West: A Theology of Mourning and Resistance, I offer a theological critique of contemporary Christian nationalist anxieties around secularization, immigration, and gender identity.
I’m currently working on a second book project on infancy in Christology, psychoanalysis, and political thought, tentatively titled Such Mean Estate: A Theology of Christmas.
